一、宗旨:
比賽旨在激發參賽者的寫作潛力,提升其英語寫作技巧,同時培養批判性思維和問題解決能力。透過這樣的活動,參賽者不僅能夠增強語言能力,還能在表達自我觀點和情感方面獲得更多的自信和經驗。此外,這場比賽期望能夠促進文化交流,並鼓勵參賽者在全球化的背景下,更好地理解和運用英語。本比賽希望提供本校有理念、有想法的學生一個倡議的舞台,也藉由參加此全校性競賽,讓個人在校學習歷程更有亮點。
二、內容:
內容的部分是S D G S相關的主題。每篇文章都需要展現出清晰的邏輯結構、豐富的詞彙運用以及流暢的語言表達,並能夠深刻地探討選定主題,傳達作者的獨立見解。
三、 參賽資格:
1. 目前就讀於靜宜大學之在學學生(不含交換生)、本籍生、國際生、研究生皆可報名。
2. 1人報名參加,名額有限,25位。
3. 寫作時間規定:共50分鐘,超過規定時間,將予以扣分。
4. 題目:當天公告。
四、寫作評分標準:
內容 (內容有組織、架構、切題度、使用明確且適當的解釋、例子、使用多樣的句型、適當的詞彙選擇和慣用語、內容須有統一性、和連貫性): 60%
英語表達能力 (準確度、流暢度、用字): 40%
五、比賽獎勵:
第一名 獎金 4,000 元、獎狀乙紙
第二名 獎金 3,000 元、獎狀乙紙
第三名 獎金 2,000 元、獎狀乙紙
六、競賽規則:
1. 參賽者最晚應於賽前十分鐘至競賽地點憑本校學生證報到入座。逾時未到者視為自動棄權。
2. 採現場即席寫作。題目於競賽開始時當場公布。
3. 參賽者請自備文具,一律以藍色或黑色原子筆或鋼筆書寫,可用修正液或修正帶。以其他筆具書寫將不予計分。
4. 作品內容限以英文書寫。若未按照規定格式及內容撰寫,作品將不予評比。
5. 完成報名入座後不得隨意離場,賽時亦不得與他人討論及互動。
七、報名時間:

3.頒獎典禮安排於114年5月11日(星期一)中午時間舉行。
八、注意事項 :
1. 本中心收到報名資料之後,將於5 個工作天內回覆確認信。為確保參賽資格,期限截止後若未收到確認信,務必請主動與活動承辦人聯繫。
2.違反學術倫理者,將取消其參賽與得獎資格。
3. 來稿嚴禁盜用他人作品,一經查證屬實,本中心將取消其得獎資格,並追回獎金及獎狀。若違法,其後果請自行負責。
4. 本辦法如有未盡事宜,主辦單位保留修改、終止、變更活動內容細節之權利。

I. Purpose
This competition aims to inspire participants to realize their writing potential, enhance their English writing skills, and cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Through this activity, participants will not only strengthen their language proficiency, but also gain greater confidence and experience in expressing their own viewpoints and emotions. In addition, the competition is intended to promote cultural exchange and encourage participants to better understand and use English in a globalized context.
This competition also seeks to provide students of the university who have ideas and aspirations with a platform for advocacy, and, through participation in this campus-wide contest, to add distinction and highlights to their learning portfolio.
II. Content
The writing topics will be related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Each essay must demonstrate a clear logical structure, rich and appropriate vocabulary use, and fluent language expression. The essay should also provide in-depth discussion of the selected topic and convey the author’s independent insights.
III. Eligibility
All currently enrolled students of Providence University (excluding exchange students), including domestic students, international students, and graduate students, are eligible to apply.
Individual participation only. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants.
Writing time: 50 minutes in total. Late completion will result in a score deduction.
The topic will be announced on the day of the competition.
IV. Scoring Criteria
Content (organization and structure, relevance to the topic, clear and appropriate explanations and examples, use of varied sentence patterns, appropriate word choice and idiomatic expressions, unity and coherence of ideas): 60%
English proficiency (accuracy, fluency, and word choice): 40%
V. Awards
First Prize: NT$4,000 and a certificate
Second Prize: NT$3,000 and a certificate
Third Prize: NT$2,000 and a certificate
VI. Competition Rules
Participants must check in with their student ID and be seated at the competition venue no later than 10 minutes before the competition begins. Late arrivals will be regarded as having forfeited the competition.
The competition will be conducted as an on-site impromptu writing activity. The topic will be announced at the start of the competition.
Participants must bring their own writing instruments. Only blue or black ballpoint pens or fountain pens may be used. Correction fluid or correction tape is allowed. Entries written with other writing tools will not be graded.
All entries must be written in English. Entries that do not follow the required format or content guidelines will not be evaluated.
After registration and being seated, participants may not leave the venue without permission. Discussion or interaction with others during the competition is strictly prohibited.
VII. Registration and Schedule
Each participant must complete the online registration by April 10, 2025 (Friday).

VIII. Important Notes
After receiving the registration information, the Center will send a confirmation email within five working days. To ensure eligibility, participants who do not receive the confirmation email after the registration deadline must proactively contact the event organizer.
Any violation of academic ethics will result in disqualification from both participation and awards.
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. If verified, the organizer will revoke the award and require the return of the prize money and certificate. Any legal consequences arising therefrom shall be borne by the participant.
For any matters not covered in these regulations, the organizer reserves the right to amend, terminate, or modify the event and its details.
